This award was presented at the RPA Annual Meeting, March 14, 2013, in New Orleans, LA. KA strongly encourages all nephrologists and nephrology office managers to become involved in the RPA.
DaVita Continuous Quality Improvement Award:
Dr. Fadem wins DaVita's Continuous Quality Improvement Award.
This award is given yearly to the DaVita Medical Director who best exemplifies the core value of CQI through outcomes-based leadership.
"I was very honored to receive this award from DaVita, at the National Medical Director meeting. Kidney Associates has worked with them in caring for dialysis patients in several dialysis centers around the city. Their support has made taking care of patients very gratifying. Although this honor has my name on it, it is really a collaboration of several teams - our practice staff, our Kidney Associates professional staff, the DaVita teammates, the other doctors we work with in these centers and the DaVita leadership."

DAVITA NIGHT OF HONOR 2013.

Kidney Associates is a Houston-based professional team comprised of eight nephrologists and a physician assistant. This team manages patients with various kidney disorders such as chronic kidney disease and chronic renal failure (End Stage Renal Disease), acute renal failure, glomerulonephritis, hypertension, electrolyte and acid-base disorders.
KA manages patients throughout the Houston metroplex, and works closely with Davita. The Houston Kidney Center Integrated Service Network is an organization of Davita dialysis facilities directed by Stephen Z. Fadem, M.D. and the other members of the KA team.
Through early treatment of chronic kidney disease, the team plays an active role in the prevention of renal failure caused by diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, polycystic kidney disease. Kidney Associates manages patients who require dialysis and is instrumental in the evaluation and management of patients for kidney transplantation. Since the early detection and management of patients with kidney disease leads to better outcomes, the nephrology community is highly interested in chronic kidney disease management and education.
The team also is active in clinical research trials, and has a full time staff devoted to developing and coordinating clinical studies.
The Houston Vascular Access Center (HVAC) is a fully operational interventional access center owned and operated by Kidney Associates to help preserve and maintain AV fistulae and grafts.
